Maxxis ACU British MotoX Championship
4th May- Lyng
| Mark Hucklebridge was the sole MotoXtreme entrant at the Fourth round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship in Lyng near Norwich, he travelled there confident of a good result to follow up his podium finish at Round 3. |
| Qualifying started with the track in perfect condition, Huck went out to put in an early fast lap in before the Sandy surface started to get rough. He ended up with the ninth fastest lap giving him a good pick on the gate for the races. |
| A cracking start in Race one saw Huck in fourth place on the first lap. From the off Billy Mackenzie and Brad Anderson were pulling away in the top two positions with Bryan Mackenzie, Huck, Mark Jones and James Noble all battling together for third, fourth, fifth and sixth, but a crash by Huck on lap four saw him slip down the order taking Noble with him because he crashed into the fallen Kawasaki rider, remounting in ninth place Huck battled on but was passed by hard charging Carlos Campano with two laps to go. With a tenth place finish looking likely a surprised Huck crossed the finish line in eighth after both Campano and Wayne Smith dnf'ed on the last lap! |
| Race two saw Huck in seventh after the first lap with Billy Mackenzie again out front. With the track now getting real rough the field was slightly more spread out than in race one but Huck pushed on anyway and got past Bryan Mackenzie for sixth on lap six, Campano was coming from the back again and got past Huck on lap eight but Jones who was in fourth crashed hard and went out leaving Huck still in sixth and this would be where he would finish after a lonely final few laps. |
| Huck's scorcard of 8-6 was consistent enough to give him fourth overall on the day and he now moves up to seventh in the MX1 class championship standings at hte halfway stage. |
