ACU British MMX Championship

31st August- Cusses Gorse

With Muck Hucklebridge sidelined through injury, MotoXtreme Kawasaki's sole representative at the Final round of the MMX championships held at Cusses Gorse near Salisbury was James Dodd who was competing in the Under 21 class.

James set an excellent 7th fastest time in practice aboard his MotoXtreme Kawasaki.
The first race didn't start well for James though and he was caught up amongst a crash and got going in 29th position, he was soon picking up positions and by lap 5 he was up to 21st position and he continued to climb up the rankings dispite conditions making the track very difficult to pass. He was up to 16th with 4 laps remaining but after all his hard work to get there, he was worn out and cruised round the remaining few laps to finish the race still in 16th.
A better start in race 2 saw him complete the first lap in 8th position, he slipped back a position on lap 2 but then a silly mistake on lap 3 saw him fall off and drop down to 20th position leaving him to came back through the pack as in race1. He got his head down and worked hard to pull back up to 13th just after the halfway stage with the track now even harder to pass on as it had become totally 'one lined'. This was as good as he could get and settled for position rather than risking another crash to finish the race in 13th position.
His efforts on the day gave him 13 points and 15th overall,  he finished the season in 18th position on 53 points after a series of bad luck and misfortune in the first half of the championship whilst on a Honda before his switch to Kawasaki cost him valuable points and the chance of finishing in the top 10.
