AMCA MX23rd May - BevercotesMotoXtreme Kawasaki 250F rider Lee Dunham maintained his position at the top of the AMCA MX2 championship standings by producing another great performance during round 2 at Bevercotes on Sunday. After gating in 2nd spot behind Phil Mercer in moto one,Lee was eventually passed by Matt Porter but however still maintained a safe 3rd place all the way to the flag.Due to dust, there was to be only two motos held at Bevercotes but what a cracker the final clash was to be.Despite moving into 2nd spot in the early exchanges,Lee did slip back to 5th before then staging a devastating comeback. Overhauling Shane Holmes,Mark Hooley and Matt Porter with clever calculated moves, young Dunham then reeled in runaway leader Lee Payne before making a stunning late pass for the win.As the riders started their final lap,Lee dived inside his startled rival Payne before racing clear for a great victory and 60 more precious AMCA MX2 Championship points.
