ACU British MMX Championship
18th May- Dean Moor
| Mark Hucklebridge was the sole MotoXtreme Kawasaki representative at the third round of the MMX Open Class championship, held at Dean Moor near Workington in Cumbria. |
| Qualifying didn't go well for Huck when a big crash on only his third lap saw him return to the pits after winding himself, but he had already posted a lap time so he was in the races albeit in 21st position |
 |
| Going down to the line in 21st gave Huck a disadvantage against his rivals because he had a poor gate pick but he still managed to come out of the first corner on the first lap in fourth place. A mistake midway round the lap saw him slip down the order to thirteenth, he soon got back into a rhythm and started making positions back but by the time he made it back into ninth, just after the midway point in the race, the riders ahead were way out infront and despite his best efforts, he could advance no further. |
| The second race saw Huck get a mid-pack start and he was placed in thirteenth once things had settled down. He was soon on the charge and started to pick off the riders in front of him, his progress was slowed by Alex Rach who held Huck off for four laps but once he got by, his charge continued until he reached eighth position when he was stuck behind Luke Mellows, but on the last lap had got past Mellows and then Dave Yelland to claim sixth position at the death. |
 |
| Championship leader Wayne Smith took both race victories for the overall win, ahead of Jamie Law, who took a brace of second place finishes and Jim Murro claimed the last step on the podium. Hucks results of ninth and sixth were good enough for seventh overall, not bad after the crash he had in qualifying, but Smith's maximum points haul has helped him to extend his lead in the championship over Huck to 42 points. |
